Ok so I did some searching - I don't know when or where your story is set, but I'm assuming it is probably third age, and Elvish of some sort based on your username haha.

Let's talk about how we are going to build your name. The Sindarin word for child is -hen, and in many Elvish names that translate to 'child of -' we see the word hin. So we will be using hin. We will put this at the end of the word as according to Elvish structure.

There is no Sindarin word for sky so I would use the Quenya word ilwë or hellë, which translate to 'heavens' and 'sky'.

My final product would be Hellëhin or Ilwëhin, meaning Child of The Sky/ Child of the Heavens. :) I hope that helped. ALSO there is a website I will link below that generates fantasy/elvish names pulled from sources across the web. These names may not be Sindarin/Quenya or related to LOTR at all but some of them are! And they sound Elvish anyway. I like to use half of one name and half of another so I don't plagerize! www.fantasynamegenerators.com

The Sindarin word for sky is ell and the word for the heavens is menel. That is how we have the name Elfaron “sky-hunter”.

What type of name are you looking for with sky?

Mae govannen!

First of all, never use any of these name generators if you want an authentically crafted name. They mash random sounds together and pay no attention to the grammar and conventions of any Tolkien language.

Secondly, you shouldn't mix Sindarin and Quenya - they are different languages! Quenya was spoken mainly in the Undying Lands, and Sindarin was the common Elven tongue of Middle-earth.

As for the names, I can recommend:

Quenya: Menellín (child of the heavens, menel + hína with lh turning to ll), Menelwë (heaven-person), Menelon/Menelissë (man/woman of the heavens), Hellanel/Hellanon (daughter/son of the sky), Hellendil (sky-lover), Fánaher/Fánaheri (lord/lady of clouds), and Laurelen (golden star)

Sindarin: Menelchen (Sindarin form of Menellín), Menelu (Sindarin form of Menelwë), Meneleth (Sindarin form of Menelissë), Elliel/Ellion (Sindarin forms of Hellanel/Hellanon), Fandor/Fancheryn (Sindarin forms of Fánaher/Fánaheri), and Glorelen (Sindarin form of Laurelen)

Menelon works in either language, and Hellendil would simply mutate to Ellendil. Please note, however, that Ellendil is very close to Elendil, a pre-existing name.

As always, I recommend a second opinion!

I second Ambarkas on this by the way never use generators.
