A root in the Qenya Lexicon of the 1910s glossed “whoop”, with various Early Qenya derivatives of similar meaning (QL/41). Tolkien connected it to the root ᴱ√HO(HO) “shout, scream”, of which it is probably a variant.

A root in the Qenya Lexicon for words like ᴱQ. hóre “pine”, but Tolkien erased the root without coming up with a replacement (QL/41). There are no signs of this root in Tolkien’s later writing.
