A neologism for “to knead, soften” coined by Roman Rausch appearing in VQP (VQP), from primitive ✱mazga- based on the root ᴹ√MASAG “knead, make soft”. It demonstrates the Sindarin sound change whereby zg became ðɣ and then ɣ vocalized to i after a consonant. See also (rejected) N. madhias “softness” which had similar developments.
