Early Quenya

tapa-

verb. to taper, stretch out (intr.), extend thin

A verb appearing as tapi- in the Qenya Lexicon of the 1910s with glosses “(intr.) taper, stretch out” under the early root ᴱ√TAPA, along side a transitive variant tatya- (QL/89). It appeared as tapa- “extend thin” in Early Qenya Word-lists of the 1920s (PE16/134).
