I've just started really getting into the different languages, and I'm starting by learning Sindarin. I've looked around and have some websites and lessons to start with, but I was wondering if anyone here had anything.
How do I begin learning Sindarin?
Sure, I would recommend:
- Gelio Edhellen, a up to date Neo-Sindarin primer
- Eldamo's Sindarin section with many articles on grammar and phonology
- Vinye Lambengolmor, a discord server for study and discussion
With Tolkien's languages, one problem is that much information you will find is rather outdated, because not all resources are still being updated when new information gets published, so keep that in mind when you find other resources.
My name is Lawrence plant crowned, how to find an apropriate translated name . some site recomended Galasrinion
It would be Galathrin for "plant crowned" in Sindarin if that is what you are looking for.
(@Nick) This is a great website to learn Sindarin! If you search any phrase in English, you should eventually find a Sindarin dictionary entry. It would be very helpful if Duolingo taught Sindarin, and it does not (trust me, I've looked). Also, sometimes Google gives accurate phrases, but not always. This is the best website/app that I know of. I am not sure, but the One Wiki to Rule them All might have some Sindarin.
I forgot, this might just be an error with me, but nothing will show up unless I select "all languages" under the search section.
