I would like to have translated a quote of Haldir's from The Fellowship of the Ring into either Sindarin or Quenya (whichever is more appropriate). The quote is, "The world is indeed full of peril, and in it there are many dark places; but still there is much that is fair, and though in all lands love is now mingled with grief, it grows perhaps the greater." I plugged it into a translator and got this back {Tel' palurin "is" "indeed" quanta en' "peril," ar' e' ta eller ier nir' mori "places;" nan' sal' eller "is" sai' tanya "is" "fair," ar' "though" e' ilya "lands" mela "is" sii' "mingled" yassen "grief," ta "grows" "perhaps" i' "greater."}, but that's not very helpful! I need it for a phone case.

Haldir was probably Silvan Elf so more than likely we would have spoken Sindarin.
This is what I came up with.
Ardhon far bant rach, a chaid nûr laew vi den; ach lae naid eno vain, a chí veleth gwinnen ‘u faergol vi i·nuir il, ce ‘alol dae·veleg.
The world is quite full of danger, and many dark places are in it; but a great number of things are still fair, and now love is bound with grief in all the lands, maybe maybe growing very great.
