Elvish-Translation bible vers

i have a question. What is a meaningful translation in an elvish language of: "Father forgive them, because they do not know what they are doing."

Now i know, there is a translation of the bible in Quenya, but is there also a translation of this sentence in Sindarin?

The Quenya is "Atar, áten apsene, an ualte ista mana cáralte". Sorry, I don't know Sindarin! I hope you can figure it out! Nai Eru tye mánata

I'll offer the following for Sindarin: Adar, díheno andin, al law-istar o man cerir.

Two things to note:

• Depending on one's reconstruction methodology, the pronoun andin could also potentially be athin, ethin, or endin (in descending order of likelihood IMO).

• Depending on one's approach to negation, law-istar might be rendered as ú-istar instead.

On the topic of negation, I would also like to comment on Nenya's proposed translation in Quenya: ua- is an older concept that Tolkien later replaced with ui-, so uilte ista would be a safer choice. In his later notes Tolkien also preferred using a negative particle instead of a negative verb - so ú istalte - but I think from a diachronic perspective it is likely that a negative verb existed up until a certain historical point even in Tolkien's latest conception, so uilte ista could still be fine as a somewhat archaic phrasing.

And of course the question of Ū vs. LĀ negation applies to Quenya as well, so further alternatives would be lálte ista and lá istalte.
