"Fresh, morning rain" in Quenya/Sindarin

Vicky #5067

I want to name a pair of exiled Noldor characters "morning dew" and "morning rain". The Quenya words I really like are "céva" and "mistë/rossë", but in Sindarin they become "cîw" and "mîdh/ross", which I can't for the life of me piece together properly.

Thanks in advance for your help!

In Sindarin, “dew-day” would be Midhor (or Orvidh for “day-dew”), and “day-ran” would be Orros/Aurros, I think, that one might need a second look along with. Rossor/Rossaur would be “rain-day.”

I think the -ss- is not as common, though we do have S. Arossiach loc. “Ford(s) of Aros”, S. Crissaegrim loc. “Cleft Mountain Peaks”, S. Lossarnach* loc. “Flowery Arnarch”.

But let’s wait for others to chime in.

Thanks for the suggestions!

I did notice when searching for these words that Elvish uses "day" much more often than "morning", so perhaps I'll use "morning" instead.
