Help me translate names pleasepleaseplease

Thog The Mighty #5079

So as I imagine is typical here, I'm starting a project that requires elvish names. At first the names were easy, but soon I felt that translations were getting harder, and names weren't sounding right. So I'd like to enlist YOUR help with the translations, and there are a lot of them. I will provide the names in English, and what language they should be in; Some of these are in languages that are much less developed, but I'm more than happy to fill in the gaps with linguistically similar substitutions or reconstructions. EX: "sword" is megil in Sindarin, macil in Quenya, and makal/makla in Primitive Elvish, therefore in Telerin it's probably something like magil or mekil or mekla. I'd appreciate ANY help offered.

Additionally, I'd like to keep male names starting with consonants whenever possible, don't ask. I also will provide relevant info as to the origin of the name, in case there are better options or ideas. If you can come up with better versions of names that sound better, I also want to hear them.

I will bold for masculine names, italicize for feminine names, and asterisk* for elves born in Cuiviénen.

Any help at all would be invaluable.

I can help with the few Sindarin names. Though some might be hard to form together.

Cold pearl: as "pearl" is already a compound ᴺS. !gaessarn n. “pearl, (lit.) sea-pebble” plus S., G. ring adj. “cold, chill, [G.] cool”. It would be Ringaessarn

Forest pool: Torael

Swift is simply lim though that is not a name. Although we do have N. Celegorn, m. “*Swift-impetuous”

Thanks so much! Are there any other names you can aid with or anyone you know who can help?

Celebrinor #5082

Telerin will probably be hard, there are not a lot of words in that language. 228 to be exact. There is no word for Dwarf, friend just a name of few.

Could you try sindarin, and I’ll attempt to deconstruct it based on some linguistic drift? I’m pretty decent at comparing cognates to reconstruct a plausible or realistic word. Sorry if I’m asking too much.

Not at all give me a little time, and I will see what I can do.

  • Mother/begetter of many peoples (primitive Telerin/primitive Elvish)

Emel Lem Evir/Emal nal Lem Evir/Evyr "Mother [of] abundant tounges"

  • Breaking wave (primitive Telerin/primitive Elvish) (also a nickname for her hammer)
  • A note from Ellanto: As for the plural of ov(o)r, that depends on how you choose to pluralise og(o)l; since you don't use the syllabic liquids, I'd say the likeliest options to consider are evir and evyr.

This isn’t a name, it is just the N. word falf n. “foam, breaker, [G.] wave” PE would be ✶pʰalma. I could not tell you if this would work for the name of an object like a hammer. Maybe something like Glamdring “Foe-hammer” √PHAL+ᴹ√DRING Fiona seems to think this would lead to Faldhring according to her chart but I think this would become Falring. I cannot find any attested example of -ldhr-. This name would mean “Foam-hammer”.

  • Silver heroine (primitive Telerin/primitive Elvish)

Using celeb “silver” + Caldis f. Version of Callon I coined. I came up with Celebgaldis not very aesthetic and since it is going to be Telerin it would be something with telep-

  • Son of the West/West sea (Sindarin)

Dúnion “West-son” and also “West-land”
