Another free-form linnod for Sindarin

david wendelken #5177

A free-form linnod is composed of two seven syllable clauses. A standard linnod is picky about which syllables get accented, a free-form one is not.

Words may wound or ward from harm, Words reveal and hide the truth.

I've looked up likely words to use, but the endings/consonant shift rules make my head spin round and round till I get dizzy.

Peth or beth mean word.

Naedh or halu means wounding or wound

Tiria is to ward

Tobla is to hide

Fatha or cennada means to reveal or show

Nanu means truth.

  • beth is just peth mutated they are the same word.
  • halu → ᴺS. [N.] haru n. “wound”
  • tiria- I don't believe is right word you are looking for, I think you are looking for N. beria- v. “to protect”
  • yep, ᴺS. [G.] ^tobla- v. “to hide”
  • fatha- → ᴺS. !patha- v. “to reveal, show”, no such word as cennada.
  • and yes ᴺS. !nanu n. “truth”.
