Translation to Quenya: Gil-galad

Hello everyone,

I have been wondering for a wile how one would translate Gil-galad into Quenya.

I approached the task like this:

Gil (S): star Galad (S): radiance, glittering reflection

El(-en) are words for star in Quenya, but the direct Cognate of gil seems yo be nillë? I'd prefer el / elen by far... or has it to be nillë?

Then with galad:

The direct cognate seems to be nalta and I had the impression as if they both deprived from ñ(g)alatā?

So I would use el / elen + nalta. But I have absolutely no Idea how they have to be connected.

Or if there are different possible versions to translate that name?

So could someone please help? And maybe explain the process and reasoning behind it ;)... I'd be really interested.

I would say: Elenalta But I don't have a lot of experience in Quenya, only Sindarin, so maybe someone else has other opinions?
