Confirm translation for a tattoo for my nephew

Lau #5345

I want to get a tattoo with my little hobbit, preferably in Sindarin with the Tengwar Annatar font.

From what I could find the best translation is perian dithen nín but I'm also seeing perian dîn nín. Which would be better? On this site, I see I could use either, but would like your input.

There was also a suggestion to use English in Tengwar to avoid translation risk.

What would be the best translation and which option would be better?

I'm using Tecendil. I'm just not sure if I submit it in English or in Sindarin for the font formatting. Any suggestions there?

If you choose to write it in English, you should use the English mode, and if you choose for Sindarin, you best use the General Sindarin mode. (Beleriand Sindarin can also be used, but the General Sindarin is used more commonly).

Technically Perian dithen nín would be correct (very good how you mutated tithen to dithen!), but in this case I myself would rather choose to use a diminuitive suffix, as what you're going for seems to be intended as a nickname/endearing namecalling. The diminuitive suffixes -ig and -eg are best used here. -eg doesn't really fit well if you look at the vowels of perian, so I would choose to say Periannig nín.

I wouldn't might some other thoughts about this case, though.

Thank you! I appreciate your feedback & suggestion. You’re completely correct in your deduction that it is meant to be a term of endearment and would like it to be translated as such.
