Translation of story titles into Sindarin and quenya

Irien Elevasarë #5030

Hello! I have two questions.

  1. What would be the correct translation into Sindarin and Quenya for the title "The Tale of the Dark Elf and the Light/Noble Elf?" I'm imagining something like "Narn Moredhel ah Aredhel." Is that correct?
  2. How would you translate into Sindarin and Quenya the titles "Stories of Love/Alliances between Mortals and Immortals" or "Stories of Love/Alliances between Men and Elves"? Could this be shortened to a single word, similar to "Atanatarion"?

I would be grateful for your help!

Hey Irien,

For "Dark Elf", I would say Mornedhel is a better option. For "Light Elf", we have Caledhel attested. So "The Tale of the Dark Elf and the Light Elf" could be rendered as Narn e·Vornedhel ah e·Galedhel.

Your other question is trickier. I'd maybe render it as Nern Meleth vig Edain ah Edhil.

(These suggestions are Sindarin.)

Hey! Thank you for your reply! What if we use Aredhel in the first question? What would the title be? I'm referring specifically to Aredhel, Turgon's sister.

Ah, then simply Narn e·Vornedhel ah Aredhel.
