Change log 2017-07-22:

• Re-enabled wildcard support for search terms. If you write aw*th it should henceforth yield awarth, wheras *aw would yield a words ending with aw, e.g. aw, baw, daw, gaw, maw etc.
• Increased comment field size.
• Added a polyfill for requestAnimationFrame to enable scrolling animations for Android devices.

• Fixed a bug where the dictionary wouldn't open because they contained reserved symbols like -, >, " and <.
• Restored RSS and JSON feed (the feed button within Discuss).

🎉 Finally an update that isn't fixing some bot issue or urgently recovering our service – today I'm excited to announce big improvements to the user experience while browsing the dictionary!

• New landing page that celebrates the power of search: now it’s delightfully clear how to dive in and browse the full dictionary!
• Clarity upgrade achieved! We’ve made it super obvious which search results you’re viewing, with active words now glowing in blue.
• Keyboard shortcuts! Fixed key mappings: press s from anywhere to instantly spotlight the search field. The field also emphasizes when you can press enter to jump to the first (or next) result.
• Create your own word lists! Build a personal collections of your favourite Elvish words. Flashcard integration is on the way - stay tuned!
• Navigation win! When viewing multiple search results, a handy index now appears on the right-hand side on desktop (non-mobile). It’s the perfect shortcut to zip straight to any word or language you love! This is one of my favourite features with this patch.
• Clearer call to scroll-action on mobile devices. A hand now appears bouncing around at the bottom of your screen when you need to scroll to see the results.

• Disabled natural language search option. This wasn't too useful anyway as it was limited to English.
• Fixed a strange Markdown parsing bug affecting links that caused some pages to fail.

• Support for dark mode to preserve the eyes! It'll be enabled by default if your operating system prefers dark mode. If it isn't, you can tap on the moon icon on the upper right corner to enter dark mode.
• Reorganized the menues such that they are all covered in the menu bar above.
• Fixed the "thumbs up" (like) button

• Improved dark and light mode, making it a little prettier and more Tolkienesque. There may be some bugs which I will work through over the coming days.
• Profile: Added the ability to customize your profile background. You can upload your own images and photos now.
• Games: Improved Sage and Flashcards to make them prettier and fixed a couple of bugs. Also added a "Hint" button for those tough Sage sessions.
• Dictionary: Added "popular searches" to give more visibility into what the community is looking for.
• Optimizations: Reduced JavaScript client bundle by ~0.5MB.

On an unrelated note, I am working to fix these intrusive ads. They are really placed awkwardly.
