✅ Logging in with Facebook

Just wanted to let you know the Facebook sign-in is not working. Kept saying something about the server. I had to create another account using Discord. Not sure if you are aware of the problem or not. Love this site though!

I reviewed the logs of what happened and determined that there apparently was a temporary outage at Facebook while they were updating our app's settings. The error message we received during that time period was:

Feature Unavailable: Facebook Login is currently unavailable for this app since we are updating additional details for this app. Please try again later.

You should be able to log in again. Let me know if doesn't work and we'll investigate.

I did some more digging and discovered that Meta is restricting Facebook login to business accounts. Parf Edhellen isn't a business, so this forces me to remove Facebook as a login option. ☹️

For those of you with existing Facebook accounts, I'll support you in transitioning from Facebook to one of the other providers we support. I'll also (and with great hesitation) implement a username and password system for those of you who might not have an account on our now-shrinking number of authentication providers. More information will be made available soon.

Perfect can you merge my old Facebook login with this new one. I will just use the discord login. Even if I can't use it at work I can still access it with my phone. :) And thank you Aldaleon. :) Much appreciated!!

You currently cannot log in with Facebook since they require a verified business account, which we don't have since we're not a business! I'm working on a solution for those of you who have previously logged in with Facebook that will allow you to reclaim your account. I'd like to provide an update on my progress so far.

I've mostly completed the coding work, but I need another week for polishing and testing. This is a relative complex solution to implement and one which can have implications on everyone if not done right.

In the meanwhile, please feel free to log in using one of the other social media. You'll be able to link your accounts when I'm done.

Okay, so this is what you'll have to do.

1. Log in to your new account.
2. Go to Security via the menu on the left hand side on the computer, or from the fold-down menu on the phone.
3. Verify your e-mail address if you haven't already done so. If you didn't receive a verification e-mail, click the button to resend it (I didn't send it out for all existing accounts as that would've been thousands of them going out!)
4. In the Accounts section, you should see your Facebook account. Click the checkbox next to it to select it and also select the checkbox for your current account (it'll say (current account) next to it).
5. Click the Link accounts buttons and follow the instructions. You'll receive an e-mail to confirm the linking.
6. Your content will be moved to a new account that you can also add a password to, if you wish (not required!) It might take a minute or so, but your two accounts will now be effectively merged!
