A Qenya name for ᴱIlk. Aryador “Land of Shadow” in the Qenya and Gnomish Lexicons and the Poetic and Mythological Words of Eldarissa from the 1910s (QL/32, GL/20). In the Poetic and Mythological Words of Eldarissa, it was glossed “(Land of) Desert” (PEM/32), a compound of arean “wilderness” and nóre “land”. It also appeared in the variant forms Areanóre and Areanor. A similar form ᴹQ.
