Early Quenya

nindon

noun. lapis lazuli

A word in the Qenya Lexicon and Poetic and Mythological Words of Eldarissa of the 1910s glossed “lapis lazuli” as a combination of ᴱQ. nin (nind-) “blue” and ᴱQ. ondo “stone” (QL/66; PME/66). In the Qenya Lexicon ningon was written below it and a faint line was drawn through the first part of nindon, possibly indicating a replacement as suggested by the editors.
