noun. butcher
Elements
Word Gloss celva “animal, living thing that moves” KIR “cut, cleave, pass swiftly through; shave; skim (surface), slip along, glide quickly”
A neologism coined by Paul Strack in 2022 for Eldamo, a combination of celva “animal” and √KIR “cut”. This neologism was originally coined by Orondil as ᴺQ. cuimacir “butcher” using cuima for “animal”, but I find that word problematic because it is based on the root √KUY having the meaning “live”, and I prefer to use that root only for “awake” and to use √KOY for “live”.
