verb. to remain, stay, stand; to endure
A verb in the Gnomish Lexicon of the 1910s glossed “remain, stay, stand”, which in combination with the dative also meant “endure” (GL/47). It appeared above an adjective form G. rô “enduring, long suffering; quiet, gentle, docile”. There was a bar joining these two words, an “X” next to the bar possibly indicating their rejection. These words may have been based on the early root ᴱ√RU’U with derivatives like ᴱQ. rue “rest, stillness, remaining, steadfastness” (QL/80).

to
proper name. To
A verb in the Gnomish Lexicon of the 1910s glossed “go, depart, be over, finish, end, die” (GL/54). The early root ᴱ√lith- also seems to have been related to time (see G. laith “time, the course of time”), so the meaning of this verb may have originally been exclusively temporal, only later spatial.
