In The Etymologies as published in The Lost Road Christopher Tolkien indicated the gloss was “?enjoy” (LR/400), but Carl Hostetter and Patrick Wynne corrected this to “employ” in their Addenda and Corrigenda to the Etymologies (VT45/23).
