imma

any, any at all (in the world/existence); anything

An adjective for “any” appearing in Demonstrative, Relative, and Correlative Stems (DRC). On the page where this first appeared, this was revised to amma then to umma (PE23/99 note #24-25). Despite these revisions, the rest of the document used imma- throughout in forms like ᴹQ. immane “anybody” and ᴹQ. immanome “any place”. The adjective imma could also be used substantively to mean “anything” (PE23/104).

imman(de)

adverb. ever, at all, to any degree

The correlative ᴹQ. imman or immande “ever, at all, to any degree” appeared in Demonstrative, Relative, and Correlative Stems (DRC) from 1948 (PE23/111), a combination of ᴹQ. imma “any” and ᴹQ. -n(de) “degree”.

Neo-Quenya: Since ᴹQ. imma “any” too closely resembles the later prefix Q. im- “same”, for purposes of Neo-Quenya I would update this to ᴺQ. aiandë “ever, at all, to any degree” using the hypothetical prefix ᴺQ. ai(a)- “any”; see that entry for discussion.

immanome

adverb. *any place

The correlative ᴹQ. {immannome >>} immanome appeared in Demonstrative, Relative, and Correlative Stems (DRC) from 1948 (PE23/112 and note #142), a combination of ᴹQ. imma “any” and ᴹQ. nome “place”.

Neo-Quenya: Since ᴹQ. imma “any” too closely resembles the later prefix Q. im- “same”, for purposes of Neo-Quenya I would update this to ᴺQ. ainomë “any place, anywhere” using the hypothetical prefix ᴺQ. ai(a)- “any”; see that entry for discussion.

immana

any at all

The correlative ᴹQ. immana “any at all” appeared in Demonstrative, Relative, and Correlative Stems (DRC) from 1948 (PE23/111), an adjectival form of ᴹQ. imma “any”.

Neo-Quenya: Since ᴹQ. imma “any” too closely resembles the later prefix Q. im- “same”, for purposes of Neo-Quenya I would update this to ᴺQ. aiana “any”, useable as an adjective or pronoun.

immandon

adverb. *like anything

The correlative ᴹQ. immandon appeared in Demonstrative, Relative, and Correlative Stems (DRC) from 1948 (PE23/111), a combination of ᴹQ. imma “any” and the similative suffix ᴹQ. -ndon.

immane

pronoun. anybody, anything, anyone

The correlative ᴹQ. immane “anybody, anyone” appeared in Demonstrative, Relative, and Correlative Stems (DRC) from 1948 (PE23/111), a pronominal form of ᴹQ. imma “any”. It could also be used to mean “anything” for concrete things rather than abstract facts (which were imma).

Neo-Quenya: For purposes of Neo-Quenya, I would use aiquen for “anyone”; see ᴺQ. ai(a)- “any-” for discussion. I would ᴺQ. aima for “anything”.

immanima

adjective. of any kind

The correlative ᴹQ. immanima “of any kind” appeared in Demonstrative, Relative, and Correlative Stems (DRC) from 1948 (PE23/107), a combination of ᴹQ. imma “any” and ᴹQ. -ima “kind”.

Neo-Quenya: Since ᴹQ. imma “any” too closely resembles the later prefix Q. im- “same”, for purposes of Neo-Quenya I would update this to ᴺQ. aitë “of any kind, of any sort” (originally proposed by Luinyelle on the Vinyë Lambengolmor Discord Server (VLDS) server in 2023-03-23) using the later suffix -itë and the hypothetical prefix ᴺQ. ai(a)- “any”; see that entry for discussion.

immanna

adverb. *to anywhere

The correlative ᴹQ. immanna appeared in Demonstrative, Relative, and Correlative Stems (DRC) from 1948 (PE23/111), a combination of ᴹQ. imma “any” and the allative suffix ᴹQ. -nna.

Neo-Quenya: Since ᴹQ. imma “any” too closely resembles the later prefix Q. im- “same”, for purposes of Neo-Quenya I would update this to ᴺQ. aianna “to anywhere” using the hypothetical prefix ᴺQ. ai(a)- “any”; see that entry for discussion.

immar(yas)

adverb. (on) any day

The correlatives ᴹQ. immar “any day” and immaryas “on any day” appeared in Demonstrative, Relative, and Correlative Stems (DRC) from 1948 (PE23/109), a combination of ᴹQ. imma “any” and ᴹQ. -ar(yas) “day”. As originally published in PE23, the second form was given as immanyas with an n, but Christopher Gilson confirmed the actual form was immaryas in private correspondance consistent with similar words in DRC.

Neo-Quenya: Since ᴹQ. imma “any” too closely resembles the later prefix Q. im- “same”, for purposes of Neo-Quenya I would update this to ᴺQ. ainaurë “any day” using Q. aurë for “day” and the hypothetical prefix ᴺQ. ai(a)- “any”; see that entry for discussion.
